  • Dr.
    Kim-Ngan Do

Dr. Do is passionate about dentistry and using it to change people’s lives for the better. At D Smiles Family Dentistry, her mission is to provide her patients with the highest quality care to give them a beautiful and healthy smile. She takes the time to connect with each person one-on-one and is committed to treating her patients as she would like to be treated. Before you schedule your first appointment with her, you can learn a little more about Dr. Do by reading on below.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BECOME A DENTIST?

“My first dental visit was when I was 8 years old after I came to the United States as an immigrant. It was a new thing to me since routine dental care wasn't available to us back in Vietnam unless you had a toothache. My experience with my childhood dentist was phenomenal, which is why I decided to become a dentist. I want to advocate the importance of dental health and help people live their lives to the fullest with complete confidence in their smiles.”

    WHERE DID YOU STUDY DENTISTRY?

After graduating from the University of California, Davis, Dr. Do earned her dental degree from the Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry. Over the years, she has completed extensive continuing education, enabling her to offer a wide variety of services, including dental implants, veneers, crowns, bridges, root canals, and ClearCorrect braces. She is also an active member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.

OUTSIDE OF THE DENTAL OFFICE, WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO?

Dr. Do is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have two wonderful children, a boy and a girl. She and her husband love to garden, and they even have a little greenhouse filled with tropical fruits and herbs, which she likes to use when cooking for friends and family.

  • Dr.
    Minh-Duc Tran

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BECOME A DENTIST?

In college, I volunteered at our family’s dental office to explore dentistry as a career. The experience motivated me to pursue a career in dentistry, where I could make a difference in people's lives and be an advocate for dental health.

    WHERE DID YOU STUDY DENTISTRY?

Dr. Tran graduated from La Salle University and subsequently obtained his dental degree from the Temple University Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry. He completed a residency at Muhlenberg Hospital, where he gained experience in treating facial trauma cases. With his free time, he has volunteered at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic to provide free dental services to the underserved community. He has also worked at a veterans hospital, providing treatment to veterans with compromised immune systems and a history of mental trauma.
